Taxify is technically complicated and handles many functions like location detection, car ordering and payments.

Here is a list of permissions we require and why they are required:

Device & app history

  • retrieve running apps

This permission is used to check if Taxify app is already working on the background to optimise memory usage on your device.

  • find accounts on the device

This permission allows us to pre-fill in your email address during the sign-up process. If you sign in with your Facebook account on your device, Taxify can use this permission to fill in your email address. Your email address and profile data is stored securely on servers so that we can email you your trip receipts.

  • approximate location (network-based)
  • precise location (GPS- and network-based)

The app uses location services to determine where you are and allows to order a car there.

  • read the contents of your device storage
  • modify or delete the contents of your device storage

We need this permission so that you can send us a message with a file, picture or a screenshot in Support tab of the app. This helps us troubleshoot any issues that you may have with the service.

Wi-Fi Connection Information

  • view Wi-Fi connections

Taxify and its mapping libraries use this permission to see if a Wi-Fi connection is available. A Wi-Fi connection helps to determine your location faster and more precisely.

Device ID & Call Information

  • read phone status and identity

This permission is used to fill in your phone country code during registration. You can edit these fields (for example if you use non-local phone number).

This permission is helpful to fill in your your credit card information automatically by camera.

  • control vibration

This permission allows the Taxify app to vibrate your phone when you receive a notification that your driver has arrived.

  • prevent device from sleeping
  • disable your screen lock

These permissions wake your phone up when driver has arrived and we want to notify you about any new event.
